2012-01-10 Haley's Sandbox I Made Her

So I was planning to make Haley a sandbox this spring or summer, but the weather has been so nice this winter that I decided to build it now. She helped me decide where to put it and she even helped out with the painting, which is not done yet. We plan to paint the seats blue and pink and have a purple table for the center. She came with me to Home Depot and picked out the colors so blame her if it doesn't look good when it's all done (I'll post more pics when it's done). She also said she wanted to be able to plant flowers so I added two planters to the back and two that lay on the ground in front. She was so excited to show it off to the neighbors.

Grandpa Harris got Haley a subscription to Highlights, High Five and U.S Kids, Turtle magazines for her birthday. This activity is from the Turtle magazine. I think Haley was more motivated by the fact that she got to get some pennies than by the desire to do science, but hey, it's a start.

2011-12-31 Family at Lake Bella Vista feeding geese and going for a walk

It's been so warm this winter, and on this last day of the year it was in the 60's, so the family decided to go feed the geese at Lake Bella Vista. After feeding the geese we walked the two-mile paved trail around the lake. We also stopped off to collect some rocks to decorate at home.

I finally remembered to bring the camera on one of our many trips down the the park/playground of the school (Elm Tree Elementary) down the street from our house.

2011-12-25 Christmas in AR with Grandma, Grandpa Joe, Grandpa Rinaldi and Grandpa Harris

Christmas. This has to truly be the best time of the year when you have a young family. There is the excitement of Santa and family visiting, and all the great food and time off from work to spend time together. This year we spent Christmas home in Arkansas and Grandma and Grandpa Joe, Grandpa Rinaldi, and Grandpa Harris came to visit.

We took the family to the newly opened Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. I'm only including a few pics so I dont' spoil if for others when they come to visit.

Chrome Tree

The Last Supper made out of thread spools and done upside down. However, when you look through the glass sphere the image is turned right side up.

Going for a walk on one of the many trails (about 8 miles in total so far). There are multi use cement trails, biking trials, and crushed stone walking trails. Many of the trails have art along their path while others end at structure or sculpture.
